doubletree by hilton: dunblane hydro hotel [+ giveaway!]

Last weekend I was kindly invited to Doubletree by Hilton Dunblane Hydro Hotel for a night away. From the moment we were handed a warm cookie at check in (yes, really! And it was delicious) I knew my stay was going to be impressive.

After unpacking and having a look around my gorgeous room - a Deluxe Suite with a huge jacuzzi spa bath - I headed down stairs for a cocktail masterclass where our talented mixologist Mel showed us how to make various cocktails from the hotel's menu, even allowing me to make my own French Martini. After a few hours sampling cocktails and chatting away with some other bloggers, it was time for dinner.

We had dinner with Ayden and her boyfriend at The Kailyard, the hotels very own restaurant featuring dishes by Nick Nairn. Again, I knew we were in for a treat. I ordered from the separate vegetarian menu and had a starter of goats cheese, followed by a lovely tomato gnocchi dish and then having a break for a cocktail before tucking in to an apple tart. The dishes were all perfectly cooked and just the right portion sizes!

After dinner we had one last cocktail before heading upstairs to our room to unwind in the spa bath and watch some Saturday night TV. We also ordered breakfast, by writing our order and leaving it outside our door on a little card. I had never done this before, but it was such a treat and the breakfast was incredible - even if we didn't quite manage to finish it all!

The morning was spent taking advantage of the leisure facilities and trying to banish our cocktail induced hangovers in the steam room before checking out at 12 and, sadly, making our way home.

I had such a great night away and would like to thank the everyone at the hotel for having us! A night away at the Hilton followed by a lavish dinner and cocktails is a little out of my usual budget, but it was a lovely treat and nice to get away from everything and relax for a night!

The generous people at Hilton have also offered me a £100 voucher to give away to my readers so that you can enjoy a night away too! Simply enter my giveaway below and it could be yours!
