la roche-posay effaclar duo

la roche-posay effaclar duo: £13

This is the first product I've tried from French brand La Roche-Posay which is stocked at Boots. It's a corrective and unclogging anti-imperfection product and helps reduce the appearance of imperfections and purify pores. At £13 for such a small tube I was a bit skeptical about whether it would help the breakouts on my skin which have been getting steadily worse, or whether it would just be a waste of money.

Almost 2 months later and I have almost finished the tube and I can tell you that I will be re-buying this again and again. It reminds me of a gentler version of Alpha-H Liquid Gold (you can read my review here) and leaves my skin feeling just as fresh, plump and nourished without the chemical exfoliation and higher risk of sun damage that comes with using Liquid Gold regularly. It's definitely one of those products that make your skin feel amazing.

I apply this morning and night and have found that it almost entirely replaces the need for a moisturiser (which is surprising as I have extremely dry skin) and it works well as primer too. It sinks into your skin quickly yet keeps it hydrated throughout the day. My make up glides on perfectly too after using this, and all you need is a tiny 5p sized amount.

My skin tone looks a lot more even and my problematic areas with red patches and blemishes have been reduced since using this. It hasn't completely cleared up my skin, however I get a lot less blemishes since using Effaclar Duo and those that I do get clear up quickly too. I think this is definitely worth trying if you suffer from breakouts and it's worth every penny.

I'm looking forward to trying more products from La Roche-Posay, does anyone have any recommendations on what to try next?

  1. I have this and love it too, definetly worth the money. I find it works really well even when I just dot it over my blemishes. Much better than anything else I've tried.

  2. I use duo in the morning and K at night. Also have their anti redness moisturiser which i'm using now the weather/hearing is dying out my skin. Amazing range. Made such a difference to my skin.

    1. I think it was you who recommended that I try this so thank you! I definitely think I'll pick up the anti redness moisturiser, it sounds like something I need! x

  3. I've been searching for a skin product like this as my skin is very dry too. Will be trying this out despite the price but as you said it's worth it. Thank-you for the recommendation! :)

  6. You should also try Effaclar K, just for 2-3 weeks. Amazing product! Effaclar H is also great for hydration, especially for those who don't like a greasy feeling on their skin.
