shower jellies

I've known about shower jellies from Lush for a long time now, infact I've owned a few pots that were included in gift boxes for a while and for some reason I had never got around to using them. I'm really not sure why, I think it was something to do with the wobbly consistency. It seems a bit... odd. However when Lily sent me a pot of The Jilted Elf, a limited edition Christmas product, I knew it was time to pop my shower jelly cherry!

The Jilted Elf probably isn't a scent for everyone. If you're like me and usually reach for the sweet scents then it'll be a bit of a change. With fragrances including figs, vodka, grapefruit and ginger oils and some seaweed gel to soften your skin it's unlike any other Lush product I've smelt before. The figs are quite strong smelling and even before I read the description I had pinpointed the scent as something grass/tree related. There's a lovely hint of spice from the ginger and cinnamon oils and lets not overlook the fact that it's an amazing bright green colour speckled with gold glitter!

I've also been using Whoosh which Lush has amusingly described as being able to "help those struggling with time travel problems and adjusting to different time zones." It contains lots of lovely citrus oils and is great for those mornings where you just can't seem to wake up!

The Iced Wine shower jelly was from last years Christmas collection (I told you I was scared to try them!) and is no longer on sale. It's another fruity smelling shower jelly which leaves you smelling like a tropical juice of some sort!

All of these shower jellies have left my skin feeling soft and refreshed and they certainly are fun to use! You only need a little bit at a time and you can either use your hands or lather it up in a loofer when using it. The only annoying thing is that it can be quite messy, with quite a bit of it ending up down the drain if you're not careful. You can also put these into the freezer and use them frozen which I haven't had a chance to try yet but can imagine being a great way to wake up!

  8. I really like the scent of the jilted elf one, it does worry me a bit with the shower jellies that they'd shoot out of the pot and down the drain! x

  11. I am exactly the same - I got iced wine for Christmas last year and I don't really know what to do with it, if I scoop a bit out it always ends up going down the drain or floating around if I'm in the bath! Consequently I still have most of the pot left!xx

  12. I love the jellies but they#re not the most practical haha. I kind of get a shower puff wet and then smoosh it on the jelly. My favourite is sweetie pie.
