glossybox november

So it's that time of the month again and to be honest I'm not hugely impressed by the offerings from this months Glossybox. It seems to be a re-occurring theme (not just with Glossybox, but with other beauty boxes I've tried) that the products are nice but they just don't excite me! There's been a few boxes that I've received that have been amazing, but I'm finding myself questioning whether I should just cancel my beauty box subscriptions and put the money towards more useful things like a new car or moving out. But then again, I absolutely love the excitement of waiting on it to arrive and the feeling of unwrapping the prettily wrapped boxes that I can never quite bring myself to hit the un-subscribe button…

Unlike other boxes, I wouldn't say there was a star product. Personally, I think the product I was most happy to receive would be either the Monu Skin Perfector or the Dead Sea Bath Salts. I've used the bath salts before after receiving them in a Boudoir Prive box and they do leave your skin feeling lovely afterwards. I've been wanting to try something like the Skin Perfector for a while now as I'm always on the quest to make my skin look brighter and more radiant. The foot cream is lovely too, it's got a gorgeous minty scent similar to Fairtrade Foot Lotion from Lush which I adore.

Nail wraps are something that I (surprisingly) haven't got around to trying yet, despite being gifted a few sets by friends. I much prefer painting my own nails but I might aswell give them a try. There's quite a few nice designs in the little insert inside the packaging - I'd have loved to receive the studded cover or gold cheetah designs!

And the perfume? Not my kind of thing, as with every perfume I've received in a beauty box. This one is a uni-sex scent and does smell quite masculine to me. The perfumes I wear are very sweet and girly though so it's no surprise they're not my thing!

Have you signed up to Glossybox? What do you think of beauty boxes as a whole - are they worth the money or not?

  1. I got the same box. Wasnt overly excited by it at first. I am looking forward to trying the skin perfector and the footcream. The others not so much - But Im not fretting as I am putting together beauty boxes for my sisters and mum for christmas so the nail wraps and bath salts can be used in them - I dont think any of them will like the perfumes!

So far I am most impressed with the feel unique boxes, I'm probably going to unsub from GB at the end of the year and stick with one box which will be the feel unique one. :-)

  5. Glossybox just seems like a make do box this month. I am hoping that they really pull it out the bag for the Christmas one. I am excited to try the nail wraps though, give my feet a bit of a pamper session!

  7. I definitely think that Dead Sea Bath Salts would be my favorite, I love bath products. Hopefully they can produce an amazing box for Christmas time. There are so many of these beauty boxes now, they're all just competing against each other.

  8. how exciting. and lovely job photographing it all as well. sorry that the products weren't that thrilling, but i completely agree with you. just the anticipation and waiting each month for whatever surprises you will receive sort of make it worth it, haha.

  11. I'm unimpressed to - going to switch to Beauty Box I think. Their products look more exciting! I do love receiving it in the post though but that's the most exciting bit!

  12. I got the same as you and wasn't impressed, have unsubscribed for now. I think the Carmine and Boudoir Prive boxes are better for me personally, the Glossybox ones the last few months haven't been very exciting :(
