glossybox

After receiving my first beauty box last month (from Boudoir Prive, you can read my post here) I thought I'd try out GlossyBox too.

Whilst I was happy with the products I received, I wouldn't say there's a product that I was really excited about. With the exception of the HD Brows, they're all things I'll make use of. From what I've heard so far the HD Brows are actually the highlight of the box for almost everyone else, but as someone who hides their eyebrows with a fringe everyday I have no real interest in taking care of them past the occasional wax so it doesn't really appeal to me personally. I'll probably try them out as eyeshadows and eyeliners but don't see it being something I use often.

I actually bought a little pot of The Green Balm from MOA last week after reading Zoe's review and I'm quite pleased to have a smaller handbag sized pot because it's a great product and really does sort out any dry patches. The Neal and Wolf Intensive Care Treatment will come in useful because I've almost finished the Sachaajuan Hair Repair product that I received from Boudoir Prive and was looking to buy something similar. I wasn't too keen on the perfume (but I never do like perfume samples that I'm sent because I'm so fussy) and I've heard good things about the Dead Sea Spa Magik scrub. It's not something I'd usually buy myself so I'm looking forward to using it!

Since most of the products are something I'll use, I wasn't disappointed with my box but at the same time I wasn't hugely impressed. I was more excited waiting on it to be delivered than I am to actually try the products. These boxes are definitely a good way to try out new products, but as I've mentioned previously there are always going to be products that don't suit you and for that reason, as well as the fact that I don't want my room becoming cluttered with products that I don't really need, I don't think I'll be subscribing to any beauty boxes on a monthly basis. They're great for a treat, and it's exciting to receive a surprise in the post but I can't justify to reguarly spend £10 a month on them.

What did you think of this months Glossybox? Did it make you more or less likely to subscribe?

  1. I love the Plum perfume and wear it regularly - Jenners in Edinburgh stock it. I can see why it's not to everyone's tastes though. Have been dithering about Glossybox since the start but the things you've received here haven't made me rush to subscribe.

  2. I still haven't made my mind up whether to sign up to Glossy Box or not... I'm really indecisive anyway...But I really don't know what to do about this one! It seems like complete luck to get something you'd really like to be using, and I typically stick to the same products!

  3. I find it quite random you got a little sponge applicator in your HD brow kit and others got a little angle brush thing? I am not sure of this months box yet, although I am addicted to having a pretty packaged box arrive every month- oh dear!

  4. I actually got a larger double sided angled brush in my Glossybox separately. It's got the HD Brows logo on it but it just doesn't fit inside the palate - weird!

  6. I think I'll be using the HD brows palette as neutral eyeshadows and seeing how that works out. I got two different products from the ones that you received - I'm generally happy with my box for similar reasons because I'll probably use everything but I'm not sure if I'll be a long time subscriber yet x

  7. can't believe i haven't been following you yet? great post! I'm currently signed up to 3 beauty boxes and beginning to think it's a) expensive, b) a little excessive. even signing up to just the one, i hate to think how many unused samples i'm going to have after a couple of months. i noticed that glossybox have extra boxes this month so you can look at all the reviews and then subscribe to get the same box - might do this in the future!

  10. I would love the brow kit but not sure about £120 a year on these type of boxes. I already spend a lot of money on make up. I would like to sign up for a quarterly or bi-annual 'best of' box where you got all the top reviews items x
