boudoir prive

I signed up for Boudoir Prive what seems like months ago now and had been quite excited to receive my first box! I really love their branding, and their packaging is gorgeous too. Opening it to find a handwritten wrote was a really nice touch. I do think the products are quite mature and are probably better suited to a an older target market when you look at the average age of a fashion/beauty blogger and I think that's why so many people were disappointed.

There are definitely a few items I like in the box. I think the one I'm most excited about trying is the Jane Iredale Lash Extender and Conditioner since I've been wanting to try a lash extender product for a while now. My hair is a bit dry and weak at the moment so I'm also looking forward to using the Sachaajuan Hair Repair product (which retails at £11 for the 100ml sample, making £10 per box worthwhile) to see if the condition improves. I love body butters and the Antioxidant Body Butter from Olavie smells lovely and has already left the patch of skin I tested it on feeling very soft.

I wasn't a fan of the perfume samples, they're a bit too strong and florally for my tastes. I'd label it as a sort of "granny perfume" and will probably give it to my Gran because it's the sort of thing she'd wear! I'll probably use the HDR Lifting Extra Firming Cream, but at 22 I wasn't excited to receive an anti-wrinkle cream.

And the tea? Well, it's not something you'd expect from a beauty box but it just so happens that I had completely ran out of tea this morning so that took away some of the disappointment when I took this out the box! It tastes much nicer than my usual brand of tea too.

When you look at everything in the box, the £10 price tag is easily justified, it's just whether or not the products suit you thats the problem. I don't think any company would be able to create a beauty box filled with brands that would suit everyone who buys it but I do think some sort of preference system where you are able to select which type of products you prefer would make the whole experience better.

  2. I recieved my box this morning, and I really wanted to love it, But I think it is aimed (like you said) to a more mature audience! I have un subbed as I am still signed up to Glossy Box & their products seem to suit me better! - Although I have just been introduced to the feel unique Beauty box too! So many decisions! xx

  5. the thing is though the samples are so small you're not going to be able to tell if you like them or not because theres not enough of it. it's just rubbish and totally not good enough especially when they say they're sending "deluxe" sized samples. NAHHHHH. crap. utter crap. and the tea? beauty comes from within? who even believes that, seriously? soz dunno why im writing another review on your post. maybe you're just nicer than i am but umm yeah xxx

  6. I definitely agree that not everyone is going to like everything that's there, I think there will always be some-one complaining!
I love the look of the Lash Extender! xx

  8. What a good, honest review - and you still try to see the good in things. It doesn't seem like the kind of thing that'll satisfy the average beauty blogger though!

rather then going crazy at the makers you simply state what you liked and didnt and justify it, a brilliant review :) xx

  11. I very nearly signed up for the box, but I think you're right it seems to be aimed perhaps at an older market than the average teen blogger.
It does seem like fabulous value, but I might hold out a while longer to see what the next few boxes look like xoxo

  12. Thanks for the review - I hope mine arrives tomorrow!

Though, looking at your review I don't think I'm going to prefer this to Glossy Box, even if they have put the price up!

  13. Greta review, I agree with what you've said. I'm not a massive fan of a few of the items, I think I'm a tad young for them. I'm not going to unsubscribe though, I'd like to see the next few boxes before I give a definite decision

  15. your photos are too nice Charlene, I will have to put a stop to this. Way too jealous ;) I didn't even hear about this box, in a world of my own. I like the idea off trying new things every month and £10 is too bad xx

  16. I was debating whether to sign up or not but to be honest this wouldn't have exited me very much if I had recieved this. I think if they want to get people to sign up, they need to make it more exiting.

  19. I've seen so many reviews slating it because of the teabags but I can't help but think that's a bit stupid - in the end you are still getting good value for money considering it is only £10.
I have my first Boudoir Prive box and my first GlossyBox box coming in September so I'm veryyy excited! Two pretty little boxes in the post in the same month, lovely! :)
