week in photos #20

001. I got a new piercing this week! It's the one with the 2 balls in the photo - the bar goes right through my skin. I've loved piercings since I got my first one when I was 15, it's a surprise that I don't have more than the 5 that I've had done throughout the years. I also don't have my lobes pierced! I decided to get this one after hunting for something a bit different online and then Lucy sent me a Twitpic of hers. I'd never seen anyone with it before and that's exactly why I wanted it! It didn't hurt and has been the easiest piercing I've had so far.

002-003. Who said vegetarians can't enjoy BBQs?! I spent Friday soaking up the sun in Liam's garden and eating delicious vegetarian burgers smothered in ketchup, topped with plastic cheese and pineapple and washed down with a Rekorderlig cider. YUM! Unfortunately the sun and 26°C heat didn't stay around for long and it's raining once again. Where is our Summer?! :(

004. I've been playing lots of L.A. Noire on the PS3 this week. It reminds me a lot of Heavy Rain (which I also enjoyed!) but I feel as though there's a lot more challenges to do and it's much more fun. I'm a bit of an erratic driver though - Liam is constantly pointing out which button controls the breaks!

005. I've also been trying to figure out how to use my Great Granddad's old manual cameras. This Konika model looks as though it's the easiest to use so I bought a light meter but haven't been able to figure out all the settings yet. The other two cameras are much more confusing (one has a concertina fold that unwinds to reveal the lens and even just opening it was a task, never mind learning how it works!) but I'm determined to figure it out one day!

006. My week wouldn't be complete without some alcohol thrown in somewhere! Most of Monday was spent in Wetherspoons drinking cheap cocktail pitchers. My favourite is still Purple Rain but the Marzipan one is now a close second! I can't wait to re-create them myself.

007. I haven't been to the cinema this week (not like me at all!) but I have enjoyed watching (and crying my heart out to) an old favourite of mine, Seven Pounds. It's such a sad story. If you haven't watched it then I suggest you do! I also bought Black Swan which has become one of my all time favourites, although I still can't watch the bit where she peels that skin off of her finger without feeling faint!

  7. I love your new piercing! I have my lobes done 3 times and my tragus - I would totally get that done, but in my job I'm only allowed to keep my tragus bar and one set of earrings in! The kids would probably rip it out anyway! Ouch.
Mmmm veggie burgers...could eat one right now. And yup, it's raining - I read that our summer is gonna die in July...I think it's died early. xx

  14. ADORE the piercing, my best friend just had hers done before she went on hols, can't wait to see it. They always told me it was the most painful at the piercing place, so I never got it done in my phase at uni. I would love to collect old cameras, they are so cheap on ebay, I may just do it xxx

  22. I have my lobes and my tragus pierced, but your new piercing looks so unique! I want to get the industrial piercing but it's associated with stereotypes such as punks etc, plus my boyfriend hates them ):

I've been addicted to L.A.Noire! I agree, it is very similar to Heavy Rain, which I also loved. I'm bloody crap at driving as it's so sensitive! xxx
