colour calming primer

left: un-blended | right: blended - you can barely see it!

I bought this green No7 Colour Calming Primer a few days ago with my last Boots £5 off No7 voucher. I've been looking for a new primer for a while now, and after hearing a few bloggers mention this one I thought I'd give it a go. I was a little nervous that it wouldn't work with my paleness for some reason, and that I'd leave the house one morning resembling the incredible hulk but it blends in perfectly (as you can see from the swatch above!) and once you've put your foundation on you can't see any green at all. How wrong was I?!

I don't really have a big problem with redness at the moment, so I can't vouch for how effective it is at correcting a red complexion but it makes applying foundation a whole lot easier and the staying power it gives is brilliant. I use Estee Lauder Doublewear which can be a bit cakey if you have dry skin like me and don't take a lot of time applying it carefully, but with this primer as a base you can apply the make up much quicker and it looks a lot smoother, giving me an almost flawless finish. Doublewear lasts most of the day anyway so I usually fix my make up at about 6pm if I'm going out again, but since using this primer my foundation hasn't budged all day and still looks perfect at 10pm!

It retails at £11, but I only paid £6 as I had £5 off. I would definitely buy this again - even at full price. A little goes a long way too, so it will last for ages. I'm not sure if I'll ever feel normal putting something BRIGHT GREEN on my face though!

  9. I've tried it on my hand but I found it difficult to blend. I use the loreal anti-redness primer. I've gone through about 6 tubes now but it lasts ages! I get blush easily and get red cheeks, eyebrows and chin and the loreal one works a treat :) xx

  14. I use the Boots natural collection green colour correction stick and have been for a few months now cos I get really blotchy red cheeks. It's actually really great, once you put your foundation/blusher over the top it's hardly noticeable ^_^
I may try this primer now too xoxo

  16. Regarding the Hulk scene, I once put a corrector on my lips thinking it's a lipstick and walked around all day with bright pale lips like a zombie! Oh so embarrasing! And trying to pull it off as 'that's just my style' didnt really work either! :P
