week in photos #17

001. Mmm, who can resist a nice long relaxing bath with your favourite Lush bath bomb? Not me anyway! I'm not usually a fan of anything scented with lavender but absolutely love the Twilight bath bomb from Lush. Maybe it's the lovely pink and blue galaxy-like-swirls that you get when it melts, or maybe it's the glitter... I don't know, but I've stocked up!

002. CUPCAKES! I was greeted with a big box of cupcakes (and a lovely little money making incentive - hello vouchers for a day of shopping) from LG Electronics in work on Wednesday. They were visiting to promote their new phone, the LG Optimus Black, and sugary cupcakes were a great way to keep our energy levels high! There were even some left at the end of the night, so we were sent home with a few.

003. I had massive cravings for Domino's Pizza the whole day on Tuesday. It was '2 for Tuesday' and my friend had been pestering me all day to get one. I almost gave in, but no... I kept strong and bought a tomato, mozarella and pesto pizza (I added my own pineapple and mushroom) instead. And you know what? It was rubbish compared to what I could have had from Dominos, arghhh!

004. There's a new H&M just opened up in Braehead Shopping Centre and it's amazing! It's much bigger than the old one and now has a department for men and kids. I went shopping yesterday and being so hungover I just wasn't in the mood to fight through the crowds so I didn't have a proper look, but I can't wait to go back at a quieter time. I think I could spend hours in there...

005. My hangover was cured by the chunkiest chips ever and a delicious mushroom risotto in my all time favourite place, Hillhead Bookclub. If you live in/around Glasgow and haven't been then you're missing out! Where else can you enjoy good food, a few drinks, followed by a some retro Nintendo games and a post-dinner game of table tennis? So much love!

006. I had to cut my fringe because it was getting so long and now I'm contemplating getting my hair cut. I did want to grow it long but it's at a really awkward stage just now and I don't know if I can wait it out! I could always get it neatened up and get a little trim, but they usually end up cutting far too much off so I'm not sure! Plus, I don't really want to pay someone £20-30 to hardly do anything to my hair...

007. I've been recommended to read this book by my friend Martina. Shockingly I've had it for almost a week now and haven't even started so I know what I'll be doing tonight. I really need to start reading more - does anyone have any recommendations? I like most things.

  1. I could so see myself in the Domino´s comment. I´m always trying to be strong, get something super healthy and then regret I should have treated myself to a yummy pizza.
The ballistic bath looks amazing, I shall get one as well. It also made me want to take a bath:)
Btw, thanks for all the where-to-eat reccommendations in Glasgow, I´m planning to do my masters over there and me and my fiance go there for a day every time we´re in Scotland so these all come in handy x

  7. I'm completely the opposite with pizzas! On hangover days I gorge on a pizza hut (sorry dominos I just love cheesy bites) and then end up over eating, uncomfortable and regretting ever wanting one... to just repeat the process a week later xxx

  8. I wish we had incentives at work, my bonus was a tiny amount which was then cut in half by the evil tax man : /

Do you work in the store or in an office?

  10. Daniela - I know, exactly! I should have just bought it… I'm still craving Dominos and I know if I had bought it on Tuesday then I wouldn't be craving it now. Wonder if I can resist temptation again this week… No problem, I love going out for dinner so have plenty of recommendations! Let me know if you're ever in need of any :) x

Elektra - Thank you :) I have a new favourite every month, haha, too many to choose from! The Twilight is definitely one of the best though. x

Rachel - Ooh lovely! What one are you going to use? I use Lush for every bath, thinking I should space it out so that they feel like a treat. :) x

Gem - It is cool! When you come to Glasgow I'll take you there! ;) That place in cardiff sounds quirky! x

Khaz - Ahhh we can try and be strong together then! My hair is the longest it has been for a long time now. I don't think I could ever cut it chin length though! x

Rachel - I've never actually French Kiss one but it sounds lovely! Looks cute too, like one of those little chocolate kisses :) Thanks for the rec, I'll look into it! x

Lila - I always enjoy the pizza but do feel stuffed afterwards. Pizza Hut cheesy bites are brilliant but Dominos do win hands down on their pizzas. And the dip… mmm… Here I go, craving it again! x

Eloise - The tax man will be after me this month too, it's rubbish! I work in a call centre :( haha x

Nic - Aww thank you! I'd love to learn about photography and get better at it but I just don't know how to start! x

  14. Yeah, exactly. See, if you´re craving it again on Tuesday just get it and enjoy it:) I remember a while ago back at uni I was literally thinking of nothing but Domino´s for days but was trying my hardest to endure. I was suffering, though, so on a Tuesday night I was like "that´s it, getting a big fat pizza now" and I can say that even though I felt like I´d put on a hundred pounds, it saved me from cravings for days to come:)
Will do, then! We always end up eating either in that tiny Tchai-ovna near the uni or in a crépes shop at West End. Love both but should really explore some other places as well:) x

  15. I love making my own pizzas now, nothing is as good as Dominos, but pizza base packet mix is easy to make then just chuck everything you want on top!
